I recently had the opportunity to chat with Jay Martin, Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Ohio Wesleyan, the winningest men’s soccer coach in college athletics.
Jay was my inaugural guest for “Conversations at The Lab”, where we chat with leaders from college athletics and business. He sets the standard for my new endeavor - to have insightful conversations about leadership and how it has impacted them individually and professionally in competition and in life. Jay spoke about many things, but a few key things really resonated with me:
Sports are fun
Trusting relationships are built on emotional attachments
Credibility
Buy-in to the process
“the score takes care of itself”
