“Tom provided insightful and refreshing workshop topics over two days for our joint ECC-CACC SAAC Leadership Conference. His ability to engage the SAAC representatives in thoughtful and interactive sessions was apparent. The sessions were approachable and relevant to these student-athletes, and important to their individual and group growth there and as they return to their schools. I would gladly recommend Tom if you want inspiration for your SAAC’s and student-athletes..”

Tom did an amazing job with our student-athletes. He presents his material in a way that's engaging and relatable. Our student-athletes walked away with an increased knowledge and the tools to make a meaningful impact. 100% recommend!

“Given the challenging times we are in, we decided this was an opportune time to provide leadership learning for our student-athletes. We invited Tom to lead a series of leadership workshops for our SAAC members over a few months. He has an engaging and vulnerable manner, which made our student-athletes feel comfortable and participatory.

Because it was our first time doing this, we were curious about how they would respond to each of the sessions, which included “how they show up every day”, “building their leadership brand” and “how empathy impacts culture”.  Tom created an interactive, thought provoking program that got our student athletes talking and thinking about themselves and their leadership style.

The student athletes came away with usable strategies and insights about themselves that they could implement with their teams right away.  The results and comments from our post workshop series showed that leadership, a growth mindset and empathy topped the charts of skills they could see applicable to themselves and their teammates.

And there were some comments from the survey which were enlightening:

“It was the greatest impact because learning how to really show up to a practice or daily life helps you in a lot of aspects and when it comes to being a leader with leading by example.”

Also…another comment:

“He inspired me to start a journey of self-improvement.”

I’m so glad we had Tom bring his program to our campus.  If you are looking to inspire your student-athletes on a journey of self-discovery to improve their performance in and out of competition and in life, Tom can make a real impact. “

“It was a pleasure to have Tom address our SAAC group during our Student-Athlete Leadership Conference. He shared with them how they could build their own self-awareness as leaders by introducing them to Energy Leadership. After taking the ELI assessment and follow-up session, they reviewed their report results and discovered the impact of their perceptions and attitudes about their various experiences had on how they show up in competition and in life. It was eye-opening for our student-athletes and realized they had understanding about how to change these attitudes. This was powerful.”

— Sarah Twiggs, Assistant Commissioner, Landmark Conference
